Treepz expands to kenya, hires ex Swvl Manager

Treepz raised $1.2 million in the last 12 months and used the funds to expand into Kenya.

A ride-hailing firm, Treepz, has expanded to Kenya and hired its new Country Manager.

 The company hired Mr Samar Patel as the Manager of Treepz Kenya. 

Reports indicate Mr Patel was Head of Transport-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service a Dubai-based mobility company called Swvl.

The Nigerian-born firm enables users to hire buses, SUVs and trucks.

Launched in 2019, Treepz operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and now Kenya.

The firm’s business connects vehicle owners with renters in its marketplace.

It also operates a corporate offering for businesses and schools where it provides commuting services for their employees or students.

Treepz raised $1.2 million in the last 12 months and used the funds to expand into Kenya. 

The fund round was driven by investors namely: GIIG Africa Fund, MoAngels, Roselake VC, Unpopular VC, Goodwater Capital and BKR Capital.

Also, ShockVentures, Winston Limited led by the Lynch Brothers, Aston Investments and Novum Actus led by Clara Ogunsemi headed the funding rounds.
