Ed-tech, Unstoppable Women of Web3 (Unstoppable WoW3) group will provide Web3 and metaverse education to six million women in Africa over the next 5 years.
The education group aims at training the next generation of diverse talent, to onboard more women to Web3 as they are few in the field and has partnered with the African Leadership Group, Africa Women CEOs Network, Chipper Cash, NFT Domains, Polygon Labs and Sankore 2.0.
Other partners include Unstoppable Domains, Uoma Beauty, and the Virtual Brand Group.
As a first step toward onboarding more women, the organizations are providing free domain names to specific users over the next 30 days.
The group was founded on International Women’s Day, 2022.
Founder of Unstoppable Women of Web3 and COO and Head of Business Development at Unstoppable Domains, Sandy Carter said Africa is not exempted from the gender equality issues happening across the globe, despite having a Web3 sector that is growing at a fast rate.
“We need to make sure everyone has a seat at the table. Empowerment starts with education, which is why we’re thrilled to lead this initiative to educate six million more African women on the metaverse and Web3.”
According to Forbes, Web3 is also known as the “semantic Web” or “decentralized Web.” It is built on the principles of decentralization, where data and applications are not controlled by a single entity.

According to Wikipedia, Metaverse is a hypothetical iteration of the Internet as a single, universal, and immersive virtual world that is facilitated by the use of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) headsets.
Managing Director of Avandis Consulting and Founder of Africa Women CEOs Network, Anino Emuwa said the program will give women in Africa a chance to participate in one of the fastest-growing industries in the modern world.
“The tech and Web3 industries have historically faced issues with diversity and a lack of representation, but with this new initiative, women in Africa can learn about a burgeoning industry and be part of building its future.”
