The Galaxy S25 series of smartphones is now available for purchase in Kenya through authorized Samsung retailers and e-commerce platforms, starting today, February 17, 2025. To mark the launch, Samsung said in a press release, early buyers within the first four weeks will receive a complimentary Samsung case.
The launch introduces a suite of artificial intelligence-driven features designed to enhance productivity, creativity, and daily convenience, marking a new era in mobile technology. Equipped with One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 series integrates multimodal AI capabilities, allowing users to interact with their devices more naturally through speech, text, images, and video.
The AI assistant provides personalized suggestions through Now Brief, a feature that helps users navigate their daily routines, while Now Bar serves as a hub for ongoing activities. Writing Assist refines text composition, while Drawing Assist empowers users to create and edit visuals with greater precision.
Samsung’s collaboration with Google has also enhanced user interactions with AI-driven features. Gemini, Google’s advanced AI model, allows users to retrieve information and organize their schedules with a single command, seamlessly integrating tasks with Samsung Calendar. Additionally, Google’s upgraded Circle to Search functionality provides AI-powered insights and instant actions at the tap of a finger.
“The Galaxy S25 series marks a transformative leap in mobile AI, bringing intuitive and intelligent experiences to users in East Africa and beyond,” said Anthony Hutia, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa. “With cutting-edge hardware and seamless AI integration, this device is designed to enhance every moment—whether through productivity, creativity, or everyday convenience.”
The Galaxy S25 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy, delivering improved AI responsiveness through on-device processing. The lineup also introduces ProScaler and Samsung’s Digital Natural Image Engine (mDNIe), enhancing AI-driven image processing and optimizing display efficiency. The Galaxy S25 Ultra debuts a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera sensor, offering enhanced clarity across various shooting distances. Features like Virtual Aperture and Samsung Log provide users with professional-grade photo and video controls.
The new lineup is also the first smartphone series to support Content Credentials, a digital authenticity standard developed by the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA). Samsung’s membership in the C2PA aligns it with industry leaders such as Adobe, Microsoft, OpenAI, Google, and Publicis Groupe in an effort to promote transparency in AI-generated content. “In line with its commitment to responsible mobile AI innovation, Samsung adopted this standard to enhance transparency for content created and edited with generative AI,” the company stated.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available in Titanium Silver Blue, Titanium Black, Titanium White Silver, and Titanium Gray, with exclusive colors like Titanium Pink Gold, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Jade Green available through Samsung.com. The Galaxy S25 and S25+ will come in Navy, Silver Shadow, Icy Blue, and Mint, with additional online-exclusive hues including Blue Black, Coral Red, and Pink Gold.
