Samsung Galaxy S24 FE launches in Kenya, starting at Ksh 91,000

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S24 FE to the Kenyan market, expanding its flagship S24 series. The Galaxy S24 FE is a noteworthy addition, offering many of the premium features of the S24 Plus but at a more accessible price point, starting from Ksh 91,000.

The Galaxy S24 FE boasts a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, comparable to the S24 Plus, though lacking the LTPO technology present in the higher-end model. The screen delivers a 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support, with peak brightness reaching 1900 nits.

Its build includes a matte aluminum frame and a combination of Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and Gorilla Glass 5 on the glossy back, offering robust protection.

Additional features include IP68 water and dust resistance, an optical fingerprint reader, Type-C USB 3.2, and hybrid stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S24 FE is powered by the Exynos 2400e chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This processor is a slightly underclocked version of the Exynos 2400, offering solid performance, although slightly below the S24 Plus in synthetic benchmarks. It runs on Android 14 with OneUI 6.1 and will receive seven years of software updates, including both Android OS upgrades and security patches.

The phone also supports Samsung DeX and a suite of Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search, Composer, Note Assist, and Live Translate, which will remain free until the end of 2025.

The Galaxy S24 FE is equipped with a triple rear camera setup: a 50MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. For selfies, it features a 10MP front-facing camera. Video recording capabilities include 8K video at 30fps and 4K at 60fps on both the rear and front cameras.

The Galaxy S24 FE comes with a 4700mAh battery, slightly larger than the S23 FE but smaller than the S24 Plus’ 4900mAh battery. It supports 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging. A 30-minute charge will take the battery up to 50%.

The Galaxy S24 FE is available in muted color options: Yellow, Mint, and Graphite. It is priced starting at Ksh 91,000, with an optional bundle offer of Ksh 101,000, which includes the Samsung Galaxy Buds.

With its competitive features and affordable pricing, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is set to be a strong contender in the Kenyan market, offering premium specs for a fraction of the price of its flagship counterparts.
