Global mobility and urban service provider inDrive has officially launched its ride-hailing app in Lusaka, Zambia. Having ranked as the second most downloaded app worldwide for the past two years, inDrive is expanding its footprint across all continents, including Africa.

What sets inDrive apart from traditional ride-hailing platforms is its unique fare negotiation system, which allows drivers and passengers to negotiate prices directly. This approach not only enhances flexibility but also empowers both parties by giving them greater control over their ride experiences.

The inDrive app enables passengers to input their pickup and drop-off locations and propose a fare. Nearby verified drivers receive these requests and can either accept the proposed fare, make a counteroffer, or decline the trip without penalties.

This negotiation process takes into account various factors, including fare, vehicle type, estimated arrival time, and driver ratings, allowing drivers to select rides that are both convenient and profitable.

One of inDrive’s distinguishing features is its commitment to zero commission fees for drivers in Lusaka during the first six months of operation.

This initiative allows drivers to retain 100% of their earnings, providing immediate financial benefits. After this introductory period, a standard low commission will be introduced, ensuring that drivers continue to earn more compared to other ride-hailing services.

Safety is a core focus for inDrive. All drivers undergo extensive background checks, which include the verification of licenses and necessary documentation to ensure reliability. Passengers can also rate drivers after each trip, fostering accountability and promoting continuous improvement.

To enhance passenger security, the app features real-time GPS tracking, allowing users to share trip details with friends or family. Additionally, inDrive provides 24/7 customer support and includes an emergency button that connects users to local authorities in case of safety concerns.
