Airtel Africa has joined forces with some of the continent’s biggest music stars to launch an educational campaign aimed at helping consumers optimize their data usage.

The telecommunications company, which operates in 14 African countries, has enlisted Fally Ipupa of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Diamond Platnumz of Tanzania, and Nigeria’s Simi to front its #SmartaWithData initiative. The campaign, designed to educate users on maximizing their mobile data, features an original song by the artists, offering practical tips on efficient browsing, streaming, and app usage.

Currently active in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Malawi, the campaign is particularly targeting 18-to-35-year-olds, a demographic that heavily relies on mobile internet for communication, entertainment, and business.

“Our goal is to ensure that customers get the most out of their Airtel data bundles, enhancing their overall online experience,” said Rohit Marwha, Airtel Africa’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer. “By partnering with artists our customers admire, we are delivering clear, relatable messages that help them better manage their data.”

The #SmartaWithData initiative provides users with actionable insights on adjusting data settings, optimizing internet speeds, and making cost-effective choices.
