Airtel Uganda and K2 Telecom have solidified their long-standing relationship by renewing their transformative partnership. This collaboration continues to blend innovation, cultural preservation, and community-centric initiatives aimed at empowering and connecting Ugandan communities.
At the renewal ceremony, Omuk. William Sekabembe, Chair of the K2 Telecom Board, highlighted the shared vision that has propelled both companies to success. Over the years, their partnership has achieved milestones such as exceeding 2 million subscribers and fostering increased brand loyalty—testaments to a relationship rooted in mutual benefit and growth.
Soumendra Sahu, Managing Director of Airtel Uganda, reflected on the journey of communication in Buganda, comparing its evolution from traditional drums—symbols of cultural identity and power—to advanced technologies like Voice over LTE, which enhances connectivity. Sahu expressed pride in Airtel Uganda and K2 Telecom’s role in advancing technologies that bridge culture and modernity, ensuring that communication tools not only connect but also enrich lives.
The partnership goes beyond connectivity to champion social empowerment. Key initiatives such as the Masaza Cup, promoting youth development, and the Kabaka Run, which raises awareness and funds in the fight against HIV/AIDS, underscore their shared commitment to societal impact.
