Nokia and Zain KSA launch first 4G/5G Femtocell solution in MEA

Nokia and Zain KSA have announced the deployment of the first 4G/5G Femtocell solution in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), aimed at enhancing enterprise indoor connectivity and improving customer experience. This strategic collaboration seeks to bridge mobile coverage gaps while optimizing network performance for businesses across Saudi Arabia.

The solution integrates Nokia’s 4G and 5G Smart Nodes with a suite of advanced technologies, including IP Security Gateway, Femto Manager, and End-to-End Delivery services. Designed for seamless integration into the Zain KSA network, the system offers a plug-and-play setup that minimizes dependence on customer infrastructure, ensuring a cost-effective and efficient connectivity solution.

With the deployment of Nokia’s Smart Nodes, Zain KSA’s enterprise customers can expect significantly improved indoor coverage, reinforcing customer loyalty by guaranteeing reliable and secure network access. The initiative also supports Zain KSA’s broader strategy to enhance business-to-business (B2B) services and offload traffic from its macro RAN.

Nokia’s Haitham Baba, Head of Enterprise Mobile Networks in Saudi Arabia, emphasized the game-changing potential of the new solution

“Our Smart Node solution is uniquely positioned to help Zain KSA accelerate B2B market entry, enhance customer experience, and optimize network efficiency. This partnership is a major milestone in our ongoing collaboration.”Zain KSA’s Vice President of Marketing & Business Development, Sultan Abdullah AlHadlag, highlighted the broader impact of the deployment

“Introducing the region’s first Smart Nodes solution aligns with our commitment to pioneering future-proof, sustainable technologies. This step strengthens our role in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation under Vision 2030 and reinforces our position as a leader in innovative network solutions.”

By leveraging Nokia’s femtocell technology, businesses will gain access to high-performance private networks, supporting both existing applications and future digital services. The solution will be tailored to meet the unique demands of enterprise customers, further enhancing Zain KSA’s B2B portfolio and solidifying its reputation as a leading provider of cutting-edge digital solutions.
