Nairobi-based telecommunications company Soliton Telmec and Technology Service Providers of Kenya (Tespok) will be sponsors for this year’s  edition of the Connected Summit in Diani, Kwale County.

The two firms said the financial support underlines the expanding partnership between the public and private sectors to promote innovation and enhance Kenya’s digital economy.

Head of Partnerships at ICT Authority Victoria Njeru said the two companies will help in advancing the ICT industry in Kenya.

Tespok, on the other hand, operates the Kenya Internet Exchange Point (KIXP), a facility which localises Kenyan internet traffic. Internet exchange points (IXPs) are designed to connect internet service providers (ISPs) and content delivery networks (CDNs) at a single location.

By utilizing dynamic routing techniques, IXPs exchange traffic for regional service providers that are physically connected to the exchange point locally rather than by using expensive international link capacity. As of March 2023, KIXP was accessible at all Kenyan carrier-neutral data centers and offers 1G, 10G, and 100G port sizes.

The summit will take place between April 2 and 5, and is expected to attract innovators, tech industry leaders, the government, country governments, and even the Big Tech.
