You’ll now pay double for Starlink internet in Nigeria

Starlink has raised its base subscription prices in Nigeria, citing inflation as the main reason for the increase. The satellite internet company, owned by SpaceX, announced the change in an email to its customers on Tuesday. The message stated, “Due to excessive levels of inflation, the Starlink monthly service price will increase.”

The standard residential plan, which includes a 1 TB fair usage policy, will now cost ₦75,000 ($48), up from ₦38,000 ($24). Roaming customers will experience the steepest increases, with local roaming now priced at ₦167,000 per month, up from ₦49,000, while international roaming will cost ₦717,000 monthly.

The new rates will take effect for existing customers on October 31, while new subscribers will be immediately subject to the updated prices.

Despite the price hikes, the Starlink kit in Nigeria remains priced at ₦440,000, with no rental option available. In contrast, in Kenya, customers have access to more affordable options, such as a 50GB plan for KES 1,300 and a Starlink Mini kit priced at KES 27,000.
