Spotify unveils Smart Shuffle, Concert and Merchandise Discovery tools

Spotify has announced a set of new features on the platform, including Smart Shuffle as well as Concert and Merchandise Discovery tools, during its Stream On event.

This comes after the firm recently launched a DJ feature on its app.

Spotify founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Daniel ES said the company is focused on giving both the creator and the consumer the best experience.

“And that’s what we’ve been doing for almost 17 years: building, improving, and reimagining this home to better meet creator needs and help them chart new pathways to success. As we look to the future, we are excited to expand that ambition to even more creators across new formats. We’re enabling more creativity, discovery and personalization than ever before by providing the best resources, support, and interactivity…”

By making personalized recommendations that match the original playlist, the Smart Shuffle tool will assist users in expanding their existing playlist.

This tool helps to refresh the user’s playlist by shuffling tracks and adding new, perfectly tailored suggestions.

The Concert and Merch Discovery feature is meant to ensure that users discover merchandise offers and concert listings in far more places across the app.

If a fan likes a show, they can tap a new ‘interested’ button to save the listing to their calendar in the Live Events Feed.

Users can adjust their location and browse concerts worldwide and all personalized to their taste.

The music company also unveiled Loud & Clear, a platform that tracks and lists how revenue generated from the app is shared among stakeholders.
