Jumia Kenya celebrates 10th anniversary of Black Friday

Jumia, Kenya’s leading e-commerce platform, has launched its 10th annual Black Friday campaign, bringing shoppers nationwide access to over 10 million products with discounts reaching up to 50%.

The event, running from November 1 to November 30, 2024, will feature deals across a wide range of categories including electronics, fashion, home appliances, and lifestyle products.

This year’s campaign is sponsored by major brands like Garnier, Xiaomi, Tecno, Jameson, and Jambo Jet. Notably, NIVEA is offering a Toyota Auris as a grand prize, with daily giveaways from L’Oréal worth Ksh 1 million.

In 2024, Jumia expanded its reach by adding 60 new pick-up stations, increasing the total to 240 nationwide. This expansion is designed to improve accessibility and convenience for customers, especially those in rural areas such as Kericho, Kwale, Garissa, Lodwar, and Lamu.

“We’re thrilled to bring our Kenyan customers the best deals and continue driving e-commerce growth,” said Vinod Goel, Regional CEO for East Africa. “With 300 pick-up locations and an enhanced logistics network, we’re making online shopping even more accessible.”

The campaign also supports local businesses by offering them a platform to reach a larger customer base, bolstering sales and fostering entrepreneurship. This commitment aligns with Jumia’s broader mission of job creation and economic growth through e-commerce.

Since pioneering Black Friday in Kenya in 2014, Jumia has revolutionized e-commerce in Africa, promoting digital inclusivity and making online shopping accessible to a broader demographic across the continent.
