The Smart Gov Summit, a premier event focused on public sector technology innovation,  announced that Felix Koskei, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President and Head of the Public Service, will deliver the keynote address at its upcoming gathering.

Scheduled for October 2-3, 2024, at the Hyatt Hotel in Nairobi, the summit is a joint effort between the State Government Department and dx5.

The event will bring together government officials, tech experts, and industry leaders, including partners like SpaceAI, ActionLab, and the African eDevelopment Resource Centre. Attendees will explore the latest trends and best practices in digital governance and how they can transform public infrastructure and service delivery across Africa.

“The Smart Government Summit is more than just a gathering; it’s a catalyst transforming how governments across Africa approach digital solutions,” said Harry Hare, Chairman of dx5. “By bringing visionary leaders from both the public and private sectors, we’re creating a space where innovative ideas can flourish, driving the modernization of public infrastructure and enhancing service delivery for millions of citizens.”

Felix Koskei’s keynote will outline the government’s digital transformation vision, emphasizing the role of technology in driving economic growth and enhancing services for citizens. His extensive experience in public sector leadership promises to offer valuable insights for attendees.

The summit will also feature government leaders such as Mercy Wanjau, Secretary to the Cabinet, Executive Office of the President, and Ambassador Philip Thigo, Special Envoy for Technology, among others.

On the private sector side, insights will be provided by Dr. Charity Wayua, Director of IBM Research Africa, and Richard Hechle, Managing Director for NTT DATA in East and West Africa.

Key topics at the summit include artificial intelligence, digital transformation, public-private partnerships, and the future of digital service delivery.

As Africa continues to expand its digital infrastructure, the Smart Gov Summit provides an essential platform for decision-makers to network, learn, and explore solutions that will modernize government operations and drive economic progress.
