Bolt opens new driver engagement centre in Cape Town to strengthen driver support

Mobility platform Bolt has officially launched its second Driver Engagement Centre in Thornton, Cape Town, following the success of its first centre in Johannesburg. This new facility addresses the need for in-person driver support, based on feedback from driver-partners.
The Cape Town centre aims to offer face-to-face assistance, helping drivers resolve issues, improve their experience, and get on the road faster.
In addition to providing support, the centre will serve as a hub for Lost and Found services, where passengers can retrieve items left in Bolt vehicles.
Bolt’s Senior Operations Manager, Simo Kalajdzic, emphasized that drivers are essential to the business and the company’s priority is ensuring they can maximize their earnings while feeling supported.

“Drivers are essential to our business, and their success is our priority. We are continuously working to improve their experience and ensure they can maximize their earnings. The new center will also offer a range of training sessions designed to equip drivers with the skills and knowledge needed to excel while driving with Bolt. These sessions will cover customer service best practices, optimizing earnings, safety protocols, and vehicle maintenance tips. By providing this comprehensive training, Bolt aims to ensure that drivers feel confident and supported and have the tools to enhance their overall performance and success on the platform, ultimately improving the passenger experience,” Kalajdzic said.

The center will also host training sessions covering customer service, safety protocols, earnings optimization, and vehicle maintenance, further empowering drivers to succeed.

Bolt’s commitment to driver safety was evident earlier this year when the company offered self-defense and safety training for female drivers in Johannesburg during Women’s Month, addressing safety challenges specific to South African roads.

With plans to expand this network of centers nationwide, Bolt continues to invest in initiatives that improve driver-partner support and overall passenger experiences.
